A Short Intermission

temporarily closed

Prohibition Kitchen is temporarily closed while we prepare for our next chapter.

To our guests, friends, and Banner Elk community — thank you for your patience, support, and continued encouragement. We are taking this time to get everything in order so we can return with the hospitality, atmosphere, small plates, cocktails, and vintage speakeasy spirit you know us for.

Please check back here or follow us on social media for reopening updates.

The lights may be low for the moment, but the story is not over.

The Invitation

A hidden gem
in Banner Elk

In the heart of Banner Elk lies a hidden gem — a speakeasy that transports guests back in time to the era of Prohibition glamour and intrigue. As you step inside, you're enveloped in the warm glow of a dimly lit room, with flickering candlelight and the soft sound of jazz setting the mood.

The décor is rich and luxurious: plush leather banquettes, gleaming brass fixtures, and a stunning vintage bar that serves up expertly crafted cocktails. The menu is just as enchanting — classic dishes elevated with modern twists, and a wine list of carefully selected bottles from around the world.

Whether you're after a romantic date night, a sophisticated evening with friends, or simply a memorable experience in a one-of-a-kind setting, you'll leave enchanted and thoroughly entertained.

Dominic Geraghty

40+ Years at the Pass

Chef Dominic brings more than four decades in the culinary arts to Banner Elk. At the beloved Eat Crow Café in Foscoe, he built a loyal following through fresh-baked breads, handcrafted pies, classic English specialties, and a warm, personal approach to hospitality.

His background includes fine-dining leadership at The Inn at Crestwood, ownership of cherished local restaurants, and a reputation for marrying authentic British tradition with approachable, beautifully executed food — from shepherd's pie and steak-and-ale pie to Bakewell tarts and bistro-style dinners. Every plate reflects decades of craftsmanship, experience, and heart.
